Our founder, Susan Hanson, discusses gardenias, scent memories and sensory gifting with Aerin.
What inspires you to bring flowers into your home?
Flowers always make a home come alive. There’s nothing like coming home to the smell of fresh flowers.
What is your first memory of gardenias?
My first memory of gardenias was when I was a little girl in Palm Beach. I loved smelling the gardenias in my grandmother’s garden.
What was your experience the first time you sent or received High Camp Gardenias as a gift?
The first time I experienced High Camp, I fell in love. I loved everything about it, from the concept to the overall presentation. High Camp is now my go-to gift.
Where do you like to keep flowers in your home?
I love filling my home with flowers. There is nothing more special than a vase of fresh gardenias next to your bed.
Where do you find creative inspiration?
Creative inspiration can come from anywhere. I am constantly inspired by my friends, my family, travel, hotels, art, movies and so much more.
What’s your fondest memory associated with scent?
My most powerful memory of scent is from my wedding day. I wore fresh gardenias in my hair and carried a bouquet of Lily of the Valley.
